These are fantastic ideas, but as I stated early on I think we should always focus on the "all voices heard" but these are some very solid ideas indeed. and a house of Lords would work well I think, has a better ring to it, but of course getting the balance of monarchy and democracy right. But me being on of those guys really into titles, and Duchies and Earldoms, i think a noble system would be in place even knighthoods, But of course rather than just granting them to anyone they should be earned through merit and hard work, within the government and the community. The monarch can decide what title to bestow upon members depending on their respective work Grand Duke Duke Marquess Earl Viscount Baron Knight For anyone who knows anything about titles I left out baronet because its essentially just a hereditary knighthood and no one dies in the span of this nation (I hope) So thats my ideas as you can see I have a passion for titles and peerage, so just read e'm over and give me some feedback This is an amazing idea and the only thing I can really say against it is that I don't particularly like the British titles{I do believe those are British} and it'd be cool if there were two or three titles of the same level. Edit: today i learned that this forum deletes square brackets and atemps to make whatever of them it can. So you want to make things more complicated and throw in different names for the same level?? whats wrong with the "British" titles, most of them are german based such as Grand Duke, Duke and Viscount, What other names would you want?

We Maybe could make a dispatch on the Front of Londinium to clearefy what means what . Btw I could give titles in german i needed : Baron Graf Marktgraf Ritter Major Generalmajor Oberst Feldmarschall (Some of them are military titles that still grant nobility in germany )

My only question is, if we do a House of Lords as the upper house, would we have to have a bunch of nations given titles at the beginning to kick off the government?

What if every member, upon being elected to the House of Lords, starts as a "Knight" and then gets bestowed higher and higher titles as they work for the region. Kinda as an incentive system. It would be mostly symbolic vs. having actual different powers, but could be cool.

That sounds good, other than the fact that at present the House of Lords is to be elected, and one does not simply lose one's feudal title. We'll either need to have only the first House of Lords elected, and then work from there, or we'd have to do away with electing the upper house altogether.

Right, well maybe you would keep the title as an "emeritus" position?

Again I think the title names that I laid out where the most inclusive, with both English german and French influences and I don't think that Field Marshall or Colonel fit with the noble sort of vibe, regardless of what you say those are not nobility titles those are military posts, perhaps they would fit better into a military rank system as opposed to a Noble system,I still think we should stick to traditional titles, as stated before Baron is german influenced along with Grand Duke, Duke and Viscount, Marquess is French and the rest are a mishmash so again I think the peerage I laid out is the most traditional with influences from everywhere. As for the parliament I think its a wonderful idea to start everyone off as a knight and watch them climb the ladders of the peerage. Of course the actual power of each title would only be ceremonial in the most part.

I think the titles you outlined GermanEmpire would be better to include into a military branch rather then mix up with nobility, perhaps you'd like to plan out some military ranks for londinium if we get sort of a military thing going as well

Londinium, Our nation is growing rapidly and we have already reached 37 nations. I'd like to thank everyone who has been sending recruitment telegrams - your dedication to helping this region's progress is much appreciated! I know we all have a lot to handle right now, but now that we are well established with a considerable amount of nations, I think it's time to inroduce our very own constitution, along with a book of laws. We can all pitch in in the process of writing these (people can be selected - with their approval - to write certain sections) and obviously must vote on laws first but I would like to recommend a new position charged with formally writing up all bills/laws and then publishing them within the book of laws. We need someone articulate, with great writing skills, who will remain unbiased and is enthusiastic about doing this. Thank you all for all your hardworking within this great region, Please share your thoughts, Bymaria PS: this parody mike pence's website is pretty amusing www.officialmikepence.com

I think we should start pitching ideas, anyone got anything?

Alrighty, based on this thread, I've created a proposed framework for government. This won't be the actual Constitution (which will require more flowery / formal language) but it's the general idea: Executive:Monarch- Has power to declare war
- Has power to defend regional borders (eject members)
- Has power to dismiss government and call elections
Government- Led by an elected Prime Minister (I'm thinking just popular vote, but if anyone here would like to try another method like proportional representation I'm all ears)
- Prime Minister has power to appoint Cabinet and run the day-to-day affairs of region
- Has power to veto legislation
Legislative:Upper House: Name to be determined- Where all legislation will originate
- May remove government official with 2/3rds vote
- Confirms judicial appointments
Lower House: Assembly of All- Votes on all upper house legislation
- Can call for a regional referendum on an issue or law
Judicial:- Led by a Lord Chancellor who is appointed by the Prime Minister
- Also comprised of a variable number of Associate Justices appointed by the Monarch
- The court oversees trials and reviews the legality of laws
Thoughts?? Yes, I think either popular vote or even instant runoff voting. 😉

If nobody has any objections, I would like to appoint Lady Cari as Constitutional Minister and in charge of leading the process of formulating our initial governing documents. Once we have a constitution, I think we should allow the legislature to begin the process of writing laws.

I'm Brittish and hate the political/ electoral system, specifically the House of Lords. I think the upper house should be called the senate or something *anything* other than the House of Lords. 😂
