Lady Cari introduced the following bill to Parliament for debate:
A BILL
Amending the Constitution of Londinium to clarify and separate residency and citizenship in the eyes of the law.
Be it enacted by the Assembly of All and Parliament of Londinium in the legislature assembled,
SECTION I: TITLE.
1. This bill shall be referred to and can be cited as Amendment V.
SECTION II: AMENDMENT.
1. Article I §5 of the Constitution of the Union of Londinium shall be amended as follows:
[§5.] The term “resident” refers to a player maintaining at least one nation in the region.
2. The following shall be added to the Constitution, immediately following Article I §5:
[§6.] The term "citizen" refers to a resident who holds citizenship status in Londinium, through whatever process shall be defined by act of the Legislature and approved by the Executive.
3. Article I §1 of the Constitution shall be amended as follows:
[§1.] The terms “Union of Londinium”, “Londinium”, and “the region” all refer to the NationStates region Londinium, located at nationstates.net/region=londinium.
4. The following shall be add to the Constitution, immediately after Article I §11:
[§13.] All definitions in this Article apply only to this Constitution and are not binding on any subsequent legislation.
5. Article I §6-11 of the current Constitution shall be renumbered as Article I §7-12.
This bill, being recently passed by Parliament, is introduced into the Assembly of All for debate.
