Diplomatic Protection Act (2018)
An Act to detail the protections and procedures related to foreign diplomats.
Short Title
(1) This Act may be cited as the Diplomatic Protection Act (2018).
Diplomatic Immunity
(2) No dignitary who is present in Londinium to represent a foreign government shall be detained, subpoenaed as a witness, or prosecuted while they are in Londinium.
(3) The Prime Minister and Monarch may extend Diplomatic Immunity to any person in Londinium on diplomatic affairs.
Declaration of Persona Non Grata
(4) Any foreign national may be declared persona non grata by the Prime Minister and Monarch.
(5) Foreign nationals who have been declared personae non gratae shall be removed from all areas of Londinium, have their diplomatic masking revoked, and not be permitted to reenter Londinium, excepting those areas needed to redress their status.
(6) Declarations of persona non grata may be reviewed or rescinded by the Prime Minister and Monarch.
Exception for Citizens
(7) Citizens only enjoy diplomatic immunity for actions taken representing the foreign government. Should it be unclear whether an action was taken thusly it shall be assumed that the Citizen did not act as such.
(8) Citizens may not be declared persona non grata, however, the Prime Minister or Monarch may revoke a citizen's diplomatic status through a public declaration.
Miscellaneous Provisions
(9)
No foreign diplomat shall be declared persona non gratae by more than one of the two officials named here in.
(10)
Neither the Prime Minister or Monarch can recind or make null a declaration of persona non gratae except if it was issued by them or one of their predecessors.
(11)
When reaching a decision of persona non gratae they shall consult one another beforehand.
(12)
The Upper House of the legislative branch may overturn any declaration of persona non gratae.
(13)
The actions under this law are subject to judicial review.
