Fellow citizens of Londinium, I ask of you today for your support in my bid to become the second Prime Minister of Londinium. Note: If you don't want to read all this, just skip to the last paragraph.
I am currently serving in Londinium's Parliament as an MP (Member of Parliament), and I am also the Chief Diplomat in outgoing Prime Minister Bymaria's cabinet. I joined NationStates over four months ago, on October the 28th, 2017. Londinium has been my home the entire time. Here are some things I have accomplished during my time here.
I have also recently established a political party, which you can find here. Since my party is only new, I have decided to form a coalition with two other parties. The NUP and NCU have agreed to support my campaign, in exchange for cabinet positions. I urge you to check out my party's manifesto, because it will help further explain a lot of the policies discussed in this campaign post.
The backbone of a coalition government is compromise. Therefore, some of the policies I discuss here will go against what is said in the party manifesto. However, I must point out that all of this policies are still what I feel is best for the region.
I have been contacting several people around Londinium to see whether they would be interested in a cabinet position, were I to win the election. Here are the ones I have decided on so far.
Foreign Policy
The new Foreign Affairs Ministry, headed by Chief Diplomat Saint Ehm, will be aided by the passage of the Civil Service Act (2018), where citizens can apply to become ambassadors to certain regions. It is very helpful to the Chief Diplomat, and is a great way to get involved.
Regional Policy
Roleplay must continue to be an essential part of Londinium. Right now, most people who are involved in the region who aren't in government are in roleplay. If we are to continue to be a flourishing region, we must keep the roleplay section alive and well. This means we must make it the least "fussy" and least complicated as possibe, to make it the easiest possbile to get involved in. I encourage everyone to get involved with roleplay.
Since the Regional Meeting thread was started, it was concluded that a change in the way government operates would be a good idea. I hope to enact these changes as soon as possible. The basic premise of it is to reduce the number of individual elections come election time, to make it less tedious. Here is how it will work: The votes for Prime Minister and MPs are combined into one. You will vote for a party, and then that party will get the number of seats proportional to their vote count. The party (or coalition) with the most members has its leader chosen as Prime Minister. This system is very similar to several real countries' election systems, and will hopefully result in a more equitable outcome to the elections.
Military Policy
Though it may state in the party manifesto that the Party for Progress is against the use of the regional military. However, in this coalition business, compromises are made. The regional military shall continue its normal operations, providing that they do their research before raiding a region. That is to say, don't stir up the pot with bigger regions than we know how to handle.
Citizenship Policy
I, personally, am against a formal citizenship policy. Being a citizen on the forums didn't stop a coup from happening once, so it won't again. What a policy like that would do is add one more step to becoming involved in the region, possibly deterring some people from going all the way. We want to be as welcoming and as down-to-earth as possible.
Final Message
I mean to be a Prime Minister for everyone, one that is inclusive and will increase activity in the region. In essence, I am following in Prime Minister Bymaria's footsteps, paving the way towards becoming one of the greatest regions in NationStates. I hope to be a Prime Minister who pleases all, and makes sure that disputes within the region are resolved easily. I certainly do hope that you consider me, Nyelant, for Prime Minister of Londinium.

I joined NationStates over four months ago, on October the 28th, 2017. Londinium has been my home the entire time. Here are some things I have accomplished during my time here.
- The writing and subsequent passage of the Legislature Reform Act in collaboration with Southern Aurgediam, which revamped the way politics were conducted in Londinium.
- The construction of many embassies, both in-game and on forums, helping to strengthen our region abroad. These include Caer Sidi, The East Pacific and The Galactic Order, among others.
- Many other small things, such as the creation of the region's flag and my appointment to the Joint Committee on Moderator Actions on the Discord Server.
- The creation of the Law Library, which compiles and sorts the laws, acts and constitutional amendments of Londinium so that they may be easily found in the future.
