And the truth about me.
I believe this region deserves the full, true story of the Saint Ehm situation. As things presently stand, absolutely nothing makes any sense. To be quite frank, I can't promise that the truth will make a ton more sense, but I do think it will be a considerable improvement.
One of our original members was a nation called "Saint Ehm." The reason that he joined the region wasn't because he received a recruitment telegram, it was because he knew me personally, and I invited him. I have been consistently coy with many members about my true background. The fact is that I have been playing Nationstates for a long time, under the name "HEM."
Without going too deeply into my life story, I will say that the only thing I've enjoyed doing in NS is building regions. My main region today isn't in need of much building, so over the years I've tried to build other ones. This was my only other success in the last decade.
So, early on, I asked one of my friends to join the region and he did, under the name "Saint Ehm." He ran for the position of Assembly Chair initially, and won.
Unfortunately, that first term would see our region fall incredibly inactive at the start. So, I initiated a move that I had done several other times in past regions: I asked Saint Ehm to create a little bit of drama. 2-3 quick posts, spark some activity, and then gone forever. That was the plan, and it largely worked. Until our friend Tiberius Cecil came along.
Months after the Ehm controversy had come and gone, we were doing much better as a region: We were active, our courts were humming, our Discord was civil and vibrant. Then, suddenly, a new up-and-coming politician named Tiberius Cecil, eager to make a name for himself, decided to prosecute Saint Ehm. His prosecution was inherently corrupt, trying to apply laws that had passed after a crime to lock someone up (most nations with a Bill of Rights in real life strictly prohibit this).
After he lost his devious suit, Mr. Cecil tried to exact revenge. He created a puppet named after Saint Ehm and began spamming the region with threats. He telegrammed many of us, posted rebellious nonsense on our RMB, and did it all to advance his own career.
When I noticed this, I knew it was time for the truth. The full truth. Staying silent meant that Tiberius Cecil would get away with it, and that was unacceptable. I informed my friend who was behind the original Saint Ehm account, and he immediately reported Tiberius Cecil to the game moderators.
I have found this whole situation so bizarrely hilarious that I'm struggling to take it totally seriously. A corrupt Attorney General tied up in his own laws, and unraveling another secret while doing it.
To be honest though, I do regret keeping my identity a secret for so long. You all are my friends, and this is an amazing region. I did not found Londinium using a pseudonym with the intention to deceive, merely to build a new community with a clean slate.
Nyelant said something in the regional Discord that truly resonated with me:
He echoes my thoughts completely. In this drama, many of us have fallen short. I have fallen short. Even though it was certainly not my intention, obviously I am partially responsible for this whole mess. But I also agree with what Lady Cari said:
I think we all have learned through these events - I know I have. Even when we have the best intentions, things can, quite simply, go to shit. I won't make the same mistakes I made here again, and I know none of you will either.
That's all.

I just want to put it out there that I kinda feel bad doing what I did and all. I mean, it wasn't even the real Saint Ehm. So anyway, I basically sunk to Tiberius' level (although with different intentions) and I totally regret that now.

And once this is all taken care of, we'll be stronger and wiser because of tonight
